  1. The Space Between the Leaves - Barbara Fay

There is space for one and all
For leaves of green on trees so tall
Some on top, some down below
The leaves reach out and grow and grow

Some nestle tight right side by side
And some stand solo on tips with pride
The food for bugs and home for bird
The rustle between them softly heard

The sun shines through from up above
    Casting shadows which I love
The wind nudges them to and fro
Some leave the branches - off they go

The space between lets light shine through
    Sparkle, shimmer covered in dew
The spaces there for you to see
The leaves who live upon each tree.

  2. The space between the trees
is a calming spot for me.
    The caterpillars lay
with hopes of flying away one day.
    The cold breeze blows
    beside the grass that grows.
    The yellow daffodils shiver
but their beautiful sight does deliver.
    A wonderful sense of peace
    like natures big warm fleece.
    The space between the trees
is a calming spot for me.
